1.What is KYC and why KYC verification is necessary?
KYC is the short form of Know Your Customer/Know Your Client. It is the verification of the identity of the account holder. Just like when you go to a bank to open an account, you will need to bring your ID and related documents, and perform facial and fingerprint recognition.
Hashkey OTC is a professional virtual asset service platform, we are committed to providing users with a high-quality and secure trading experience, where identity verification is indispensable. According to the requirement of Regulations,we are required to perform the necessary KYC verification for all clients.
2.What do I need to be aware of when submitting my identification documents?
HashKey Exchange currently accepts only two types of documents, international standard passports, and government-approved ID documents. Please note the following when submitting your identification.
The document needs to be within the validity period.
The document must have a clear and complete barcode.
The selfie photo on the document must have clear features and outlines.
The content of the document needs to be clearly legible.
The ID must not have reflective spots or stains.
3.Notes for submitting proof of address
To ensure the smooth approval of your information, please confirm the following items before submitting your address verification documents:
- Documents must be issued within the last 3 months.
- Must clearly show your full name and residential address.
- The name on your address proof must exactly match the name on your identity document.
- Documents in languages other than Chinese or English must provide a certified English translation.
- Documents must be certified true copies (certified by a notary public, accountant, lawyer, etc.) unless submitting the original.
- Acceptable Document Types: Utility bills (e.g., mobile phone, water, electricity, gas, landline telephone, home broadband, cable TV monthly statements), government tax bills, bank statements, statements from licensed securities firms or insurance companies, or any official documents issued by a government agency.
4.Is there an age restriction for identity verification?
Users under the age of 18 and over the age of 80 are not allowed to use HashKey OTC platform and cannot complete identity verification.
5.Is Hashkey OTC currently accepting individual user registrations?
Currently, we accept registration from individual users.We support two user categories: Individual Retail Investor and Individual Accredited Investor (AI). You will need to register and complete KYC verification to become an Individual Retail Investor at first.
If an Individual Retail Investor meets any one of the following criteria and provides the relevant supporting asset documents, you may submit an application through the client platform to be upgraded to an Individual Accredited Investor (AI) :
- Personal financial assets (minus related liabilities) exceeding SGD 1 million (or the equivalent in foreign currency);
- Income in the past 12 months not less than SGD 300,000 (or the equivalent in foreign currency);
- Personal net assets exceeding SGD 2 million (or the equivalent in foreign currency), with the value of the individual's primary residence (minus loans) contributing a maximum of SGD 1 million.
*Currently, Individual Retail Investors are entitled to asset custody, OTC trading, deposits, and withdrawals. The benefits available to Individual Retail Investors are presently the same as those available to Individual Accredited Investors (AI) .
